Tournament History

The BRD Wanderpokal (which means "challenge cup" in German) started in Seattle, 1966 as a friendly competition among the all-German soccer clubs on the West Coast of the U.S. in honor of the 15th anniversary of the Bundes Republik Deutschland (BRD), with the trophy donated by the German consulate. Since then, the tournament has grown to include teams worldwide, with locations all over the west coast of North America.
