Minutes of Managers' Meeting
44th B R D Wanderpokal Vancouver 2009 Tournament
Held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 8:10 PM in the Vancouver Alpen Club,
33rd & Victoria Drive, Vancouver, BC Canada
Udo Waechter brought the meeting to order welcomed and thanked the small number of teams who braved the long trip under tough economic conditions to support the 44th BRD Wanderpokal.
At roll call; two teams were absent, Real Marin 2 (s45) and Sapperton S.C. (35)
Udo Waechter advised the members that there was a problem at registration. Stockton United had listed a player born in 1955 on their roster for the over 55 Div. According to the rules he had to be born in 1954 or earlier. Since it was an obvious mistake and since the player had traveled this far the managers in the over 55 Div. were asked to give consent to let the player play. After discussion they agreed to let the player play. Robert Phillips of Stockton United thanked the other managers in the division.
Udo Waechter asked for a motion to accept the minutes from last year's managers meetings as circulated.
Karl Buder of Real Marin made the motion, seconded by Robert Phillips of Stockton United. The motion was passed unanimously.
Udo Waechter gave an overview of the venue and the circumstances surrounding this Tournament.
The preliminary banquet head count stood at 165.
It was brought to the attention of the membership that due to "politics" within the Provincial referees association a number of referees pulled out at the last minute leaving some of the games without assistant referees. Discussion ensued.
New Business: Recognition was given for the hard work and job well done under these tough economic times.
