Do individual players need to register?

Yes. In addition to each team completing the Team Registration, all players must complete a Player Registration form in order to play in the Wanderpokal.

How do I register a team?

Each team completing must complete Team Registration form and pay entry fee of $795. In addition all players must complete a Player Registration form in order to play in the Wanderpokal. Final team roster will be printed on the morning of Friday, May 24th and validated upon the manager check-in that evening. Any player additions after midnight on Thursday, May 23rd will incur a $10 fee per player.

Check-In & Games

When will game schedules be available?

Game schedules will be released no later than Friday, May 17th on the tournament website.

When are games going to be scheduled?

Teams should be prepared to play anytime between 8 am - 8 pm each day.

Can we request to make changes to our game times?

We will try our best accomodate scheduling requests up to May 1, 2019 for teams traveling from outside of Northern California. We can not make any changes to the schedule once they are released.

When is Team / Player Check-in and pre-tournament Manager Meeting?

Team / player check-in is on Friday, May 24th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Sacramento Turn Verein Hall at 3349 J Street, Sacramento and also 7:00 am - 11:00 am on Saturday at Granite Regional Park. A manager meeting will be held at 7:00 pm.


What are the field types at Granite Park?

There are up to 8 grass fields and one all weather surface (turf). Make sure to bring appropriate footwear.


Do we need to be a German or German-American club to participate?

No. The Wanderpokal is open to all clubs / teams. The Wanderpokal was founded as an annual gathering of German-American clubs but welcomes all clubs. The tournament does celebrate our German heritage with traditional beer garden and food but we welcome all clubs that enjoy friendly competition and the love of the game.
