Do we need to be a German or German-American club to participate?No. The Wanderpokal is open to all clubs / teams. The Wanderpokal was founded as an annual gathering of German-American clubs but welcomes all clubs. The tournament does celebrate our German heritage with traditional beer garden and food but we welcome all clubs that enjoy friendly competition and the love of the game.

How do I register a team?Each team competing must complete the Team Registration Form, submit a team roster, and pay the entry fee of $950. In addition, all players must complete a Player Registration Form in order to play in the Wanderpokal. Your registration application will NOT be considered until all steps have been completed. Any player additions after the team is registered will incur a $5.00 fee per player. Roster changes are closed at 8:00pm on Wednesday, May 24th. Team game cards will be printed on the morning of Thursday, May 25th and handed out to the teams at the manager check-in Friday evening.

Do individual players need to register?Yes. In addition to each team completing the Team Registration, all players must complete a Player Registration form in order to play in the Wanderpokal. Both must be done before the team application can be considered accepted.

What are the field types for the tournament?There are up to 7 full-size grass fields. Make sure to bring appropriate footwear.

When is Team Check-in and pre-tournament Manager Meeting?Team check-in is on Friday, May 26th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Sacramento Turn Verein Hall at 3349 J Street, Sacramento. Teams may also check-in 7:00 am - 10:00 am on Saturday at the tournament field site. Last minute arrivals will be standing in line. Please be patient and courteous. A manager meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 26 in the STV Trophy Room. Please plan accordingly to check-in and attend the meeting. You might need two representatives to divide up the responsibilities.

When will game schedules be available?Game schedules will be released no later than Friday, May 19th on the tournament website.

When are games going to be scheduled?Teams should be prepared to play anytime between 8 am - 8 pm each day.

Can we request to make changes to our game times?We will try our best accommodate scheduling requests made before May 1, 2023 ONLY for teams traveling from outside of Northern California.
